What I can help with?

If you have read some of the other pages on this website then you may be aware that I treat everyone and their problem as unique, and my therapy will be designed specifically for each person. This means that three people who come for help for what they label as anxiety may have totally different programmes of treatment.

The label you give to your problem is not important as I will aim to discover and disrupt the patterns that underlie it. So, as I treat every client and their problem as unique it means that I can help with anything where the mind is involved … is your mind involved in what you are seeking help with?

Six main categories that people often come to Cognitive Hypnotherapists for are:

Stopping habits and addictions (including stopping smoking)

Social Confidence - public speaking, exam or test nerves, interviews etc

Overcoming phobias and fears

Easing stress or anxiety - and the symptoms such as IBS, anxiety attacks

Rage / Anger management - my favourite issue!

Losing weight

Throughout this website I have been conscious that I mostly refer to 'issues' or 'problems' but in truth many people come for Cognitive Hypnotherapy because they want help at becoming better at something. Examples of such things are:

Improving levels of confidence

Life Coaching - ever felt stuck?

Enhancing performance (including in sport)

One exciting area that hypnotherapy in general is gaining much credibility in is health and healing. There is recent and ongoing research into the mind-body connection, which shows that what we think influences what happens in our bodies. After all this is what happens in the undeniable placebo effect: a patient thinks that a dummy pill is going to cure his problem, and hey presto it does! By using trance as a means to contact the unconscious we can aim to guide the natural healing process, or alleviate conditions which have a pyschosomatic element.
